When I was a kid a common remark was "He/she's so cheap he/she will squeeze a nuickle until the buffalo screams!!!"

Usually found dateless although they sold an acid which would miraculously reveal the missing digits and mintmark. Coins produced 1913-38 but found in change until at least the late 60's.
