I worked with GH magazine. Time and time again. they reminded me that it was never called "The Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval". It was just, "The Good Housekeeping Seal". By the way, I had the privelage of visitng the GH testing facility in NYC, of all places in about 1985. I worked for Radio Shack/Tandy. We were introducing a new TRS-80 computer for the home. It was my bright idea to see if we could get the GH Seal. We did. It was located in mid-town Manhattan, 29th floor of the Hearst building, they had (and I hear they still have) washing machines for testing detergents and fabrics, all manner of other test gear, etc. Who knew?
Apparently the GH Seal of Approval (with an updated design) still exists. But when's the last time you saw an ad (other than in GH, I guess) in which the company said that the product had earned the Seal?
