One of my brothers had a '66 hardtop Mustang... Bought it used when it was maybe 7 or 8 years old. Factory, stock everything, small V8.
By the time he'd had it a year or two, he had metalflake baby blue paint on it, glas packs on the exhaust, other custom stuff... Had it spiffed up pretty nice, then he suddenly got the motorcycle bug and sold it.
After a year or so of motorbiking, he decided he just *had* to get a Mustang again. Found on in the paper, same year and color. Sure enough, it was the car he'd sold, and it did not belong to the guy he'd sold it to... So, he ended up buying his old Mustang back! (I'd guess this was maybe 1978 or so by then).
He totally rebuilt the engine back to original stock, repainted it the orig. stock color (light creamy yellow), and had it for *many* years... Might even still have it, as far as I know... If so, it's probably in pieces of his garage out back...
