It sounded like a good idea but the main reason I did not like them was the quad records were more expensive!

I thought about one of these until I realized that live sound doesn't usually come from behind unless you're in the band or orchestra and didn't trust the cartridges or stylus in the early models until they were better developed , which they were not.

I had a Lafayette SQ Quad system. Still have a few disks. The problem was that there were two major competing formats, SQ and CD4. After a few years the public lost interest.
