Telechron clocks were good. I had a clock radio for twenty five years and the only time I needed to reset the Telechron clock was for the semi-annual change between standard time and daylight savings.
I bought a clock radio/cd player a couple of years ago and the clock was worthless. I gave it away. Radios with triple digit prices have clocks that don't remain accurate for a day. I learnt this from reading the reviews *after* I got rid of that radio. An accurate digital clock adds a few cents more to the cost of manufacture. One company started spending the extra nickel or dime after they had enough complaints.
You can test the radio in the shop but you don't find out about the clock until you get it home.
